Thank you for your interest in adopting a cat! If you are applying for a kitten, please note they must go to homes where there will be another social kitten or cat, whether you already own one or plan to adopt a pair. Once you submit the application below, the process is as follows:
1. Your application will be processed by a Social Tees representative. This usually takes between 2 and 10 days. Because we receive hundreds of applications each week, we are unable to reach out to every applicant upon receipt of the application. If you have questions about specific animals or the status of your application, email apps@socialteesnyc.org.
2. When processing your application, we will contact your landlord, veterinarian, and personal references. We may also contact you for further information and/or to schedule a home check. Please have patience while waiting for a response. We receive hundreds of emails each day, and we try as hard as we can to get to all of them in a timely fashion.
3. If approved, you will be notified by a Social Tees representative, and we’ll take it from there!
PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to place any animal on hold while any application is being processed. We sincerely appreciate your enthusiasm about welcoming a rescue pet into your family, but we receive many applications for each animal, and we process them all simultaneously and then choose the best match for each animal to the best of our ability.
